Ian Perry is a Freelance Lighting Cameraman with over 30 years of extremely thorough and extensive training and experience as a BBC Staff cameraman. Some 20 earlier years from the 70’s were in BBC Studios (London and Glasgow), and BBC OB’s, and as Guest Lecturer at BBC Training in Wood Norton, Evesham (Film to Video) for 3 years.
With the advent of lightweight “PSC” type cameras in the late 80’s, he transferred to Location as a Lighting Cameraman and DoP.
Worked on a vast range of programmes but more especially Documentary, Features, Drama, LE, and Multi-
Ian Perry achieved Fellowship status (and DoP) with the RPS and BIPP in 2000.
With the closure of ‘BBC Crewshop’ in 2002 Ian Perry now works as a Freelance in any area of TV, Independent, Corporate, Private, and Podcast Video with an extensive range of Camera, Lighting, Sound, and Grips equipment, that caters for most filming requirements.
Ian can work Single Person if required, including shoot/edit, or team up with excellent ex BBC Sound Recordists.
Ian is also available for Training Assignments in UK or Worldwide. Current CRB.
Available to work either locally (London, Essex, Kent, Suffolk, Norfolk, East Anglia), or anywhere in the UK or Worldwide.
With the trend towards Hi Definition Cinematography Ian has completed a HD course with DoP Paul Wheeler BSC.
